Texas has one active Native Indian casino and one casino boat. There were two Indian gaming operations but in late 2001 the state's attorney general closed one and is still trying to close the other one.
The casino offers: poker, pull tab machines, bingo, and a player-pool-banked blackjack game where each player must pay a commission to the house for each bet that is made. The minimum gambling age is 21 and the casino is open 24 hours daily.
The one casino boat in Texas sails nine miles out into the Gulf of Mexico where casino gambling is permitted and offers: blackjack, craps, roulette, caribbean stud poker, slots, and video poker.
